Its Ok To Use God As Your Crutch, Even If You Are Unsure Of Your Faith, But Don’t Stop There…

Long ago i had a talk with someone about God. They were back and forth between believing in Him and being an atheist. As time went on they started having problems in their life. To me, I would call it depression. They felt like no one loved them and felt like they were dying. They plain out seemed like they had nothing to live for. Once they started seeking for help, wanting to pull out of this repeat of hopelesness and death feeling, they started to see God as more than just a story again. As i was speaking to this individual, who was very confused, i told them, “just use God as a crutch.” You may not be all together developed in Christ, you may not know if you believe in Him, but the thought of there being a God to protect you and love you is better than having nothing out there at all. What a waste it is to believe that this life is built with nothing but destruction, heartache, and death to come. I believe that if you use God as your crutch, even if you may be off and on in your faith, over time you will begin to develop a relationship with Him, unless all you do is use the thought of there being a God to comfort your mind in times of need. It takes more then just using Him as a crutch, you must also try to get to know Him. Test the weaters and see if what you are using to help you cope could be more than just imagination. If you seek with your whole heart in your time of need and search for more than just a “good feeling” and the “I’m protected sensation,” you very well could find that your “crutch” is indeed real and is far greater than even your very best friend. We all have a starting point and if you struggle with starting and stopping, believing and not believing and not knowing where to turn, just turn to God, even if just to feel comfort through mixed emotions. During that time, all of God’s glory could hit you so hard that you have the full blown revaluation of who God really is, and how much you need and adore His love for you. So, let Him be your crutch and search deeper to get to know Him as you are leaning on Him. Your crutch could turn into a relationship that saves your life and brings peace to your thirsty soul. His word tells us that if we thirst, drink from Him and we Will never thirst again, and that is far better than just some fairytale.

I'm a 34 year old with 3 wonderful kids, an amazing husband that ended up rescuing me from who i thought was trying to rescue me. i am the woman that makes mistakes but learns from them. i am not who i was a little over a year ago. last year i was easily manipulated, being made to feel guilty, and struck down by people i trusted. this year i have learned about myself and still learning...how to be strong. how to protect myself and never be a victim again.
