As days go by and we see; horror, torment, betrayal, and brokenness. Nothing in this life is promised or secure. Nothing is complete when we write our own story. We shift through this world with broken dreams, destroyed promises, and grief from many things. It’s hard to focus on things that are, lovely, pure, and of good report when destruction seems to be turning every corner. How can we survive? How can we make it in this world with so much to face, so much that haunts us, and so much disappointment? We have to look to the Lord. Look to the Lord for guidance, hope, then develop a connection with Him.
Isaiah45:22. All the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other.
Salvation doesn’t come just for sins. Salvation can be for the things of this world. His love can save us from the horror of the things we face daily. When we rely on God, He saves us from bad choices that can effect our future, He saves us from being in the wrong places at the wrong time, but most of all, He saves us from ourselves. Our lives are like a book. We write each chapter day by day, but if we write our book without God in it we bring; sadness, heartbreak, brokenness, grief, and we set a torturing fate made by our choices. God wants us to call on Him for answers, to trust Him with our hearts, desires, and He longs for us to be loyal to Him like He is with us. Lift your eyes to the Lord and see all of His grace at work. Seek Him as a friend, as someone to cry and talk to. God is gracious, merciful, loving, and able to heal our bodies, minds, and hearts, if only we are brave enough to ask Him and trust He has the power to do it. Ask God to control what you can’t and then start believing in Him to control even what you can. Control over our own lives is like throwing destruction in the air, like confetti, and watching it make a huge mess that requires much clean up.
But I will bless the person who puts his trust in me. (Jeremiah 17:7)
Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. (Psalm 9:10)
Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe.(Proverbs 28:26)
Over and over, in the Bible, we are encourage to trust in God, to lean on Him and not our selves, to lean not onto our own understanding. There is great purpose in our lives, great healing through Jesus, and resurrection of our soul when we give ourselves to His will, to give our selves whole heartedly. So, lift your eyes up, start brand new, no matter how you have been hurt or how messy you may have written this chapter of your life, because with God, any chapter can earase a previous one and make your story rise to the challenge of beong God’s testimony of His never ending grace and love.
