This may come across as reaching to some, but to others it may be an inspiration. For me, I was encouraged and felt a good point was made.
God Wants Us To Be Like Monarchs
We took our family to a science museum and watched a short film about monarchs. We learned how the butterfly lays its eggs on milkweed and then cycle begins. The monarch has to hatch out as a caterpillar and then live off the milkweed until its next stage. Once it has gone through its whole growing process it finally becomes a beautiful butterfly. Less then one percent make it, due to the food circle. They have to travle very far, find their food, store up fat for travling, and survive the cold. They travel south as the temperatures begin to change, all the way from the USA to Mexico. This is a very long migration and a lot of work for a very small creature.
As they were talking in the film it made me think about our life with God. When we first start out as christians we are babies. We have to build our strength, faith, and loyalty. Not all will make it due to the enemy and weakness, but the harder you fight, the higher the chances are of making it to your next level of a walk with God. We have things that attack us, problems of all kinds. Finances, struggles, deaths, sickness. You can fill in the blank with a great number of things. If we just stay high, hold tight to our surrounding and not let ourselves fall down to the enemy, we stand a high chance of being that “one percent survival.” During our lives we have to be strong by feeding on God’s word. We have to pray for strength and guidance so that we make it to our great destination. There are times we may get tired, flying high above our trials and trying to hold ourselves up in our faith is tough, but juat like the monarch, we have to work hard and stay focused on what is really important in the end. Its not about if you can make it, its how can I make it? In the film they found that the monarchs had all migrated to a high mountaintop in Mexico, millions of them covering thw trees where it was hot enough to keep them warm, cool and moist enough to keep them comfortable and living safer until they could return to the North. Our destination is to be with God, where we will forever be safe with Him, to never worry, hurt, or be tested again. Our journey requires a lot of work till we get there, but we have to press on. We have to remember that our faithfulness to God will one day reward us to forever be with Him. We need to be like the amazing, strong, hugest migration out there. We have to fight for what we know we need/desire, and that is to fight to spend eternity with our Heavenly father, no matter how hard the trip is, cause in the end it’s not going to be about how tough it was, it’s going to be about a victory that we made it.
